REFUND POLICY

Last updated: 28 September 2026

1. About This Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains the conditions under which payments made for GoCzechGuru courses, digital learning content, subscriptions, lesson packages and related educational services may be cancelled, refunded or otherwise adjusted.

GoCzechGuru is operated by:

Vijay Bakshi
Opletalova 921/6, Nové Mฤ›sto, 11000 Praha 1
Czech Republic
Email: goczechguru@goczech.cz

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply under Czech or European Union law.

2. Consumer Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer and purchase a course or service online, you may have a legal right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving a reason, subject to the exceptions and conditions provided by applicable law.

For services, the withdrawal period generally begins when the contract is concluded.

Different rules may apply when digital content is supplied immediately or when performance of a service begins at your express request during the withdrawal period.

3. Immediate Access to Digital Course Content

GoCzechGuru courses may include digital content that becomes available immediately after purchase or enrolment, including:

online lessons;
interactive exercises;
audio and pronunciation material;
vocabulary and grammar content;
student dashboard access;
progress-tracking tools;
downloadable or viewable learning materials; and
other digital learning resources.

Where permitted by law, before immediate access to such digital content begins, we may ask you to expressly consent to receiving the digital content before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period and to acknowledge that beginning the supply of the digital content may result in the loss of your statutory right of withdrawal.

Where the legally required consent and acknowledgement have been properly obtained and access to the digital content has begun, the ordinary 14-day change-of-mind withdrawal right may no longer apply to that digital content.

This does not affect your statutory rights if the digital content is defective, materially different from what was promised or otherwise does not comply with applicable law.

4. Cancellation Before Digital Access Begins

If you have purchased digital course access but the digital content has not yet been made available to you, and your statutory withdrawal right still applies, you may request cancellation within the applicable withdrawal period.

Where a valid statutory withdrawal request is received, the payment will be refunded in accordance with applicable law.

5. Online Classes, Teacher-Led Services and Physical Classes

Some GoCzechGuru products may include live online teaching, teacher review, classroom instruction, consultations or other scheduled educational services in addition to digital course content.

Cancellation, rescheduling and refund conditions for scheduled classes or teacher-led services may depend on the particular course or package and may be communicated at the time of booking or purchase.

If you expressly request a service to begin during the statutory withdrawal period and subsequently withdraw before the service has been fully performed, you may be required, where permitted by law, to pay a proportionate amount for services already provided.

If a scheduled class is cancelled by GoCzechGuru and no suitable replacement is provided, the affected class may be rescheduled, credited or refunded as appropriate.

6. Lesson Packages and Course Bundles

GoCzechGuru may offer access to multiple lessons as a course package or bundle.

Purchasing a bundle does not necessarily mean that each lesson constitutes a separate contract.

Where immediate digital access to the purchased course has begun following the required consent and acknowledgement, simply completing only part of the course, choosing not to continue or not using the remaining lessons does not automatically create a right to a partial refund.

Any mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

7. Instalment Payments

Where GoCzechGuru allows a course to be paid in instalments, the payment schedule forms part of the purchase agreement.

Stopping participation in a course does not automatically cancel outstanding instalments where access has already been provided and the applicable contract remains in force.

If a cancellation or withdrawal is legally valid, any remaining payment obligations and any refund will be adjusted according to the applicable legal requirements and the portion of the service already provided, where relevant.

8. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

If you believe that:

you were charged twice;
an incorrect amount was charged;
a payment was processed for the wrong course; or
a payment was made because of an identifiable technical error,

please contact us as soon as possible.

After verification, duplicate or incorrect charges will be corrected or refunded where appropriate.

9. Technical Problems

A temporary technical problem, browser issue, internet interruption or device-specific problem does not automatically create a right to a refund.

If you experience a technical problem, please contact us so that we can first try to resolve the issue.

When reporting a problem, it is helpful to provide:

your name;
your account email address;
the affected lesson or page;
the device you are using;
your browser; and
a short description or screenshot of the problem.

If a serious technical problem attributable to GoCzechGuru prevents you from accessing paid content for an unreasonable period and we are unable to provide a reasonable solution, replacement access, extension or other remedy, we will consider an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.

10. Digital Content or Services That Do Not Conform to the Agreement

This Refund Policy does not remove your legal rights where paid digital content or digital services are defective or do not conform to what was agreed.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, appropriate remedies may include bringing the content or service into conformity, replacement access, a proportionate price reduction or termination of the contract and refund.

We encourage you to contact us first so that we can investigate and correct the problem.

11. Change of Mind After Course Access Has Begun

Where you have validly requested immediate supply of digital content, acknowledged the consequences for your withdrawal right and access has begun, we are generally not required to provide a change-of-mind refund for that digital content where the statutory exception applies.

Examples of circumstances that do not normally create an additional refund entitlement include:

not having enough time to study;
changing personal plans;
deciding not to continue the course;
failing to use the account for a period of time;
moving to another country;
choosing another language course; or
not completing the available lessons.

This section does not override mandatory consumer rights.

12. Examination and Learning Results

GoCzechGuru provides educational materials and learning support but does not guarantee that every learner will:

pass a particular Czech-language examination;
achieve a specific language level within a particular period;
obtain permanent residence or another immigration status;
obtain employment;
receive university admission; or
achieve another external result.

A learner's examination result or personal outcome therefore does not, by itself, create a right to a refund.

Nothing in this section affects rights arising if the course itself was materially misrepresented or did not conform to the applicable contract.

13. Promotional Prices and Discounts

Courses purchased using a promotional price, discount code or special offer remain subject to this Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.

Where a refund is due, the amount refunded will normally be based on the amount actually paid rather than the standard undiscounted price.

14. Account Suspension or Misuse

GoCzechGuru may restrict or suspend accounts in cases involving serious misuse, unauthorised account sharing, unlawful activity, attempts to bypass access controls or unauthorised copying or distribution of course material.

Suspension or termination resulting from a serious breach by the user does not automatically create a right to a refund.

Any mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.

15. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

To request a cancellation, withdrawal or refund, contact:

GoCzechGuru
Email: goczechguru@goczech.cz

Please include:

your full name;
the email address connected to your GoCzechGuru account;
the course or package purchased;
the date of purchase;
the payment reference, where available; and
a short explanation of your request.

If you are exercising a statutory right of withdrawal, you do not need to provide a reason for the withdrawal.

16. Processing Approved Refunds

Where a statutory withdrawal applies, reimbursement will be made within the period required by applicable law.

Where possible, refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless another method has been expressly agreed.

The time taken for the refunded amount to appear in your account may also depend on your bank, card issuer or payment-service provider.

17. Currency and Payment Provider Charges

If a payment involves currency conversion, international card processing or third-party payment fees, the final amount received after a refund may be affected by exchange-rate changes or charges imposed independently by banks or payment providers.

GoCzechGuru is not responsible for exchange-rate differences or third-party charges that are outside our control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

18. Exceptional and Discretionary Refunds

GoCzechGuru may, in appropriate circumstances, offer a refund, credit, course extension, transfer or other solution even where there is no legal obligation to do so.

Any such discretionary solution is considered individually and does not establish an automatic entitlement for other purchases or customers.

19. Mandatory Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes, restricts or replaces rights that consumers have under mandatory Czech or European Union consumer-protection law.

Where any part of this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the mandatory legal requirement will apply.

20. Changes to This Refund Policy

We may update this Refund Policy when our courses, payment arrangements, services or legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on the GoCzechGuru website together with the date of the most recent update.
